The first and second war in the Gulf: significance of the technological superiority in modern warfare
Zuna, Dominik ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Bahenský, Vojtěch (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on role of modern technology in outcome of first and second Gulf war (1991 and 2003 respectively). Thesis is evaluating the role of technological advantage on the battlefield, skill difference between actors, role of air force, air supremacy and psychological and moral factors. Main goal of thesis is to compare the importance of all those factors in relation to the outcome of conflict(s) and review main theoretical approaches that offers explanation of how and why the conflicts ended the way they did. Both war campaings are thoroughly analyzed and compared against each other and confronted with the specific theories. Main discovery is, that the great results were caused by synergistic relation mainly between skill, technology and air support. Special chapter about practical and policy implications for AČR (Army of Czech Republic) is located at the end of thesis.
Impact of gear and weaponry on posture in kneeling shooting position
Zdražila, Václav ; Vágner, Michal (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title Impact of gear and weaponry on posture in kneeling shooting position Objectives The aim of this thesis is to find out the impact of gear and weaponry on posture in the kneeling shooting position. Specifically, this study examines the influence of carried load on posture, aiming stability and balance in the high and low kneeling shooting position variants. Methods This thesis has an empirical observational character. The shooting position was tested by Qualisys camera system and Kistler pressure plates. The measurment was performed on 16 Military department students with mean age of 23 years (standard deviation 2,63 years). Measurements were carried out in four levels, with no load, light load of 15 kg, mean load of 30 kg and heavy load of 45 kg. The measurement was performed on high kneeling variant and the low variant with elbow supported by the front knee. Intra-individual comparison of the results of each level was determined by a T-test. Results: The load in a form of gear and weapony had a statisicaly significant - negative influence on the kneeling shooting position posture. Gear and weaponry used for this study caused a lower trunk position, increased shoulders angle in the low variant, lesser aiming stability and balance control in the position. The bigger was the weight of gear and...
Impact of gear and weaponry on muscle activation in the direct front kick
Oláh, Vladan ; Vágner, Michal (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title: The influence of equipment and arms on skeletal muscles activities while practising direct kick. Aim: The aim of this thesis was to find out the influence of carried equipment and arms on the activity of skeletal muscles when a direct front kick is being practised. The methods used: This thesis has an empirically observational character. Muscular activities were measured by means of surface electromyography synchronised by Qualisys screen system. To obtain statistic data, a t-test has been used, requiring 5 % significance level. Results: While carrying a 15-kilogram load, the activity of skeletal muscles was not significantly reduced when performing a direct front kick. However, a 30- kilogram load caused a substantial reduction of skeletal muscular activities during the kick described above. After adding a 15-kilogram bag to another 15 kilograms in the form of a body armour, a helmet and arms, the muscular activity changed its features in a considerable way. Furthermore, most respondents proved 45-kilogram load to be over their limit. The equipment and arms of that weight led to the summation action potential, exceeding the power- coordinative functional reserve, and thus the deformation of the direct front kick technique. Keywords: close combat, EMG, equipment, arms, direct front kick
Comparison of equipment and equipment of the Czech Republic Police units at the central and regional level
Plíšek, Jan ; Fiala, Miloš (advisor) ; Vilášek, Josef (referee)
Title: Comparison of the equipment and equipment of the intervention units at the central and regional levels. Goals: The description of the equipment and equipment of the Rapid Deployment Unit and the regional intervention units, familiarization with legal regulations, intake of equipment and equipment and evidence of differences in equipment and equipment between the two components. Method: The available information from the general and specialized literature, decrees and the law of the Czech Republic was used to find out the difference in the equipment and the equipment of the Rapid Deployment and Regional Service units. Results: The result is a comparison of the equipment and armaments of the Rapid Deployment Unit and the Coast Guard units. Key words: elements, police, defense, policeman, outfit, equipment

Title: Analysis of training and intervention using climbing techniques at the special units of the Police of the Czech Republic and the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic Objectives: The main objective of this work is the analysis of the current methodology of training at height and over free depth at the Special Unit of the Police of the Czech Republic (PCR) and the Climbing Group of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic (FRS CR) and the analysis of the intervention of these groups. This thesis also analyzes the material equipment for the above mentioned units, which is necessary for the fulfilment of tasks at height and over free depth. Methods: In this work we used the analysis and the interview methods. The interview method was used to obtain the necessary information from the interviewed instructors who provide the methodological guidance of the climbing groups of the PCR and the FRS CR. We used the analysis method for the study of the training of climbing groups of the PCR and the FRS CR. Results: As the result of the study was found that the training of the climbers of FRS CR is more complex and contains more climbing techniques in different types of places. Police work is mainly focused on abseiling and ascending. Both groups adapt training according to the importance...
Development of greek helmets from archaic to hellenistic age
Janek, Tomáš ; Musil, Jiří (advisor) ; Bouzek, Jan (referee)
This work deals with development of greek helmets from archaic to hellenistic age. It allocates the main types of used helmets and typologically divides them. To the types are attached their different variants. They are divided according to period of greatest use. The work is trying to date changes, which are appearing by the production of types. Helmets are supplemented with iconographical parallels. Images are documented in vase paintng, scuplture, coins and small bronzes. The work is also observing paralles otside the Greek mainland and compares different production processes mainly in Great Greece. The purpose of this work is to show division of the helmets based on the original founds.
